Comparison

Omnisend vs Drip

Pricing, send limits, automation and features compared at your own list size. Prices checked 8 September 2026.

Quick verdict

Two ecommerce-native platforms separated by how much work you want to do yourself. Omnisend gives you prebuilt store flows that work immediately against a connected Shopify or WooCommerce store, the broadest platform coverage here, SMS on the same canvas, and a free tier to start on. Drip gives you better raw material: behavioural segmentation on store events, product views, categories browsed and lifetime value. Every feature is on every plan, no free tier and a considerably higher entry price. Omnisend is the better first ecommerce email tool. Drip is where you go when prebuilt flows have stopped being enough and you want to build segments nobody has written a template for.

Automation

Drip has the more flexible builder and Omnisend the faster one. Drip’s workflows can branch on rich store behaviour (products viewed, categories browsed, lifetime value thresholds) which produces segments Omnisend cannot express. Omnisend ships cart abandonment, browse abandonment, post-purchase and winback as templates that work on day one, and puts email, SMS and web push on a single canvas.

Ecommerce features

Both are ecommerce-first, which makes this the closest section on the page. Omnisend has broader platform coverage and the more complete Shopify integration specifically. Drip has better use of the data once it arrives, especially for segmentation and lifecycle targeting. A store on Shopify with standard flows will do better on Omnisend; a store with an unusual customer lifecycle will do better on Drip.

Forms and landing pages

Omnisend has the stronger forms and popups, with good on-store targeting rules, exit intent and gamified capture aimed at list-building on a storefront. Drip includes forms and popups but with fewer targeting options. Neither offers a landing page or website builder, so both assume you have a site already.

Email send limits

Drip sends are unlimited up to 30,000 contacts; above that its calculator switches to an allowance of twelve sends per contact. Omnisend Standard allocates twelve sends per contact and Pro removes the cap. For a store mailing campaigns plus flows, both are comfortable at those ratios, but a store running high-frequency campaigns should check the allowance before assuming it fits: on Omnisend Standard at any size, and on Drip once the list passes 30,000.

Free plan limits

Omnisend has a free tier and Drip does not, though Omnisend’s is tightly limited: 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, roughly two campaigns to a full list, with 24/7 support and automation included. Drip starts at its lowest paid band with no free option and no meaningful cheap tier, which makes it a decision you commit to rather than try.

Integrations

Omnisend covers more platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Wix and Recharge) with deep native syncs. Drip covers Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce plus Facebook and Stripe, with a smaller catalogue overall. Both use Zapier for the tail. Omnisend is the safer choice if your store is not on Shopify.

Deliverability

Comparable, with Omnisend slightly ahead on volume and automatic suppression of non-engagers on ecommerce flows, which matters for stores carrying years of stale contacts. Drip runs engagement-segmented shared pools with SPF, DKIM and DMARC support but at lower total volume. Neither score is a measured inbox rate.

Support

Omnisend wins. It offers 24/7 email and live chat on every plan including free, and assigns an expert to higher-spend accounts; it is consistently among the best-supported products on this site. Drip offers email and live chat with generally quick responses but no phone support and no 24/7 guarantee.

Ease of use

Omnisend is quicker to get value from because the flows are already written. Drip is well designed but assumes marketing fluency: its segmentation model is simultaneously its best feature and its steepest part, and getting value out means understanding how store events map to rules.

Pros and cons

Omnisend

Ecommerce email and SMS in one place

Pros

  • The most complete Shopify and WooCommerce integration here
  • Email, SMS and web push on a single flow canvas
  • 24/7 support on every plan, including the free one
  • Unlimited email sends on the Pro tier

Cons

  • Expensive per contact compared with the generalists
  • Free plan allows only 500 emails a month
  • Poor fit for anything that is not a store
  • SMS credits are billed on top of the plan fee

Drip

Ecommerce automation for stores that have outgrown the basics

Pros

  • Behavioural segmentation on store data is the best here
  • All features included on every plan; pricing scales only on contacts
  • Native SMS alongside email
  • Strong Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento integrations

Cons

  • No free plan and a high entry price
  • Overkill and overpriced for a plain newsletter
  • Smaller integration catalogue than the larger providers
  • No phone support at any tier

Alternatives worth checking

If neither of these fits, these are the providers we would look at next and why.

How we compared these two

Prices come from each provider’s own published pricing page. The source URL and the date we checked it are shown against every figure in the calculator above; where a band has not yet been confirmed against the source it is labelled “needs review” rather than presented as confirmed.

The ranking in the calculator is by price alone. Our editorial scores, automation, ease of use, deliverability, support, do not reorder it. They inform the verdict and the use-case winners above, and each score has its reasoning written out on the provider’s own page.

We do not run our own inbox placement tests, so nothing in the deliverability section should be read as a measured inbox rate. It reflects published sending infrastructure, authentication and IP options, and documented provider policy.
